NTTD Titanium Mesh

This is Omega's diving watch made for No Time To Die, with a brown face, a gray titanium case and a mesh bracelet. Daniel Craig wears the design as James Bond in the film. Its ordinary hands tell the time, while the turning ring around the face lets a diver keep track of elapsed minutes.

Craig had contributed to the design. At its launch in December 2019, he described wanting a light watch for the character and suggesting vintage colors and details. Omega used Grade 2 titanium for the case and bracelet. The watch stayed 42 millimeters wide, but the lighter metal reduced its weight without requiring a smaller case.

The brown face was made to resemble the color some old watch dials develop. It is brown aluminum, with pale luminous markings and open-centered hands. The same brown appears on the timing ring. These aged-looking colors were specified for a new watch; the metal case and fine mesh have a gray finish. The mesh is made from many small interlocking loops rather than rows of broad bracelet links.

The basic shape belongs to the Diver 300M family, introduced in 1993. The indented edge of the timing ring and the open hands remain recognizable, but the familiar waves on the dial are absent. So is the date window. Compared with the blue steel Seamaster, the gray metal and brown face change much of the appearance without changing what the watch is for.

Its construction is modern. A domed sapphire cover rises over the face, and an automatic movement winds itself as the watch is worn.

The military-looking marks belong to the film design too. There is a broad arrow on the dial, and the back has numbers arranged in the style of British military-issue watches. Among them are 007 and 62. The first identifies Bond; the second refers to 1962, the year of the first Bond film. These details belong to a watch made for the character, not a record of service in the Royal Navy.
